Lewisville Citizen Police Academy

"One of the great pleasures I have is to support the work of the Lewisville Citizen Police Academy and the volunteer work of its alumni association of graduates. It's clear that the Lewisville Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (LCPAAA) is committed to the spirit of volunteerism for the good of Lewisville police officers and citizens of the City of Lewisville. They embody the essence of what a Citizen Police Academy is created for and that’s to promote a better understanding between the police department and citizens. I am a huge fan of our alumni association and I encourage all citizens to consider participating in this program.”

- Russ Kerbow, Chief of Police

The Academy is comprised of thirteen sessions each lasting two and a half hours.  Students must be 18 years of age and either live or work in the city of Lewisville to attend.  If you are interested in participating in this exciting, rewarding, and educational opportunity, click here to visit the City of Lewisville web site for more information.

Three of the classes are Self Defense Tactics, Firing Range, and Practicals Night where students are placed in mock scenarios and given the opportunity to respond to a variety of "calls" similar to those encountered by police officers.
